Student Wellbeing Service
Our goal is to help students unlock their full potential in all aspects of wellbeing.
What We Offer:
Our services include:
- Evidence-based therapeutic support directly with students.
- Case management for students engaged with external support agencies.
- Collaboration with teachers, educational support staff, and College leaders.
- Consultation with parents or guardians when appropriate.
- Implementation of programs promoting wellbeing across the College.
Student access to this service is voluntary and customised to meet each student’s individual goals and needs. While we provide counselling, support, intervention, risk assessments, and case management, more complex concerns may require a referral to specialised external services.
Following the Australian Psychological Society's standards, students aged 12 and older, who are assessed as capable of providing informed consent, can now independently access the College Counsellor. While parental consent is not needed for the initial session, we encourage open communication and collaboration with parents throughout the process
- For Junior School: Referrals are made by contacting the classroom teacher, who will complete a referral form.
- For Middle and Senior School: Students can self-refer via SEQTA, while parents can initiate referrals by speaking with the Year Level Coordinator, or Homeroom Teacher, who will submit the referral form.
- Consent from all students is required before proceeding as this service is voluntary.
We are committed to protecting student privacy under the guidelines of the Education Act and relevant health legislation. Referrals from staff, students, or parents are reviewed during fortnightly Wellbeing Meetings with the Counsellor, Heads of School, and other wellbeing team members.
Year Level Coordinators are available to provide pastoral care and address issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, anger management, substance use, conflict resolution, self-esteem, challenges at home or school, and transitioning between primary and secondary education.
