CLASS OF 2025 - VCE RESULTS

The College is delighted to congratulate Cathedral College Wangaratta’s Class of 2025 on their outstanding VCE results. We are incredibly proud of all our Year Twelve students, not only for their academic achievements but for their growth, perseverance, and contributions to the College.

This milestone is a testament to their dedication, resilience, and the unwavering support of their families, teachers, and the broader Cathedral College community. Each student’s journey has been unique, and their accomplishments extend far beyond their results—they include leadership, creativity, teamwork, and the values that define our school.

As the Class of 2025 embarks on the next chapter of their lives, we celebrate their success and wish them all the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead.

It gives us great pleasure to acknowledge the Cathedral College Dux for 2025, Elizabeth (Ellie) McNamara, who achieved an ATAR of 98.95. Ellie demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the content and studied Art Creative Practice, Economics, Literature, Maths Methods and Visual Communication and Design. Ellie achieved two perfect study scores of 50 in Visual Communication and Design and Art Creative Practice. To put this into context, of the 49,000 students completing an ATAR pathway, only 664 students achieved perfect study scores. This is outstanding. Ellie has applied to study a Bachelor of Design/Business at Monash University. Eloise Mudge also achieved outstanding academic success with an ATAR of 97.30 and has applied to study Biomedical Science Medical at LaTrobe University. Congratulations also to Emily Baker, who achieved an ATAR of 93.90. Emily has applied to study a Bachelor of Law/Global Studies at Monash University.

In summary:

The Class of 2025 achieved 100% satisfactory completion for their VCE studies
6% of students achieved an ATAR above 90
21% of students achieved an ATAR above 80
53% of students achieved an ATAR above 70

Congratulations to Ava Harrison Raknes (93.35) and Rayne Skippen (91.35), who also achieved ATARs over 90. This is an incredible achievement. The College had an additional 14 students who achieved an ATAR above 80, which is also outstanding. We would also like to recognise the twenty one occasions where a student achieved a study score above 40, which places those students in the top 8% of the state.

While some may measure VCE success solely by ATAR scores, this tells only part of the story of each individual’s journey. At Cathedral College Wangaratta, we celebrate every student’s achievement and journey. This year, we proudly acknowledge our VCE Vocational Major graduates—the first cohort to complete this applied learning certificate since its introduction this year. The diverse Senior School pathways chosen by our students, including VET certificates, school-based apprenticeships, entry into TAFE, and securing ongoing employment, reflect our commitment to providing a holistic education that values every individual and their unique aspirations.

We look forward to the class of 2025 staying in touch with us at the College and sharing with us their achievements and accomplishments over the years to come.
