Meet Eloise - CCW's 2025 Wellbeing Captain

I joined Cathedral College in 2024 for Year Eleven, transferring from Yarrawonga P-12. I made the decision to move schools for VCE to focus more intently on my academic goals and to access a broader range of subject choices.

For VCE, I am studying English, Mathematical Methods, General Mathematics, Health and Human Development, and Psychology. I also completed fast-tracked Biology last year.

My goal for next year is to pursue a career in medicine, and I’ve been exploring rural pathway options through local universities.

I nominated myself for the role of Student Wellbeing Captain because I recognise the importance of promoting wellbeing within our school community. I believe wellbeing includes many aspects—such as inclusion, mental health, and ensuring that everyone feels safe and supported at school.

In this role, I’ve participated in meetings with the staff Wellbeing Team to provide a student perspective, and I regularly attend Student Voice meetings, where all Senior Captains collaborate to support one another’s initiatives. I contributed to the recent IDAHOBIT event and am currently involved in planning for Harmony Day.

My role involves working closely with both students and staff to bridge the gap between them and implement initiatives that improve our school environment. To guide our efforts, we’ve conducted surveys across Homerooms to identify key areas where students need support and to determine how we can make a meaningful difference. I also make myself available to students who may need peer support.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue working with Mr. Jones on upcoming projects, including promoting RUOK Day and encouraging open conversations about mental health. My goal is to help normalise these discussions—both among peers and within the wider school community.
