Welcome

It gives the College great pleasure in announcing that Mr Leigh Symons has been appointed as the new Head of Junior School at Cathedral College Wangaratta. Leigh is currently Deputy Principal at St Bernard’s Primary School in Wangaratta and will commence with the College at the beginning of the 2024 academic year.

Having undertaken a comprehensive selection process that attracted quality candidates from across Victoria and interstate, the College is delighted to be able to appoint a local person of such high calibre to this important leadership position. Before being appointed to St Bernard’s Primary School, Leigh held the position of Deputy Principal at St Joseph’s Primary School in Benalla for eleven years. In both roles, Leigh led his school communities with distinction.

Leigh is a highly experienced school leader and educator whose values, ethos and educational philosophy align closely with the College’s values and vision for the future.
